“One generation shall laud your works to another and shall declare your mighty acts.”

As many people are aware, Maria and I recently became great-grandparents for the first time. I didn’t know what my expectations would be concerning this event, after all our children and grandchildren have attained adult status. Our thoughts have been extended toward careers, education, and their life choices. However, Jackson Mark Quigley has brought new excitement into our family that hasn’t been present in some time. Another generation has come on the scene, bringing new hopes and dreams, not only for us, but Jackson also carries with him the eventual opportunity to serve his God at each level of life as he reaches them. Our role is to continue to prepare a path toward that end, with clearly marked proven landmarks for him to rely on in his development and journey.

I’ve missed being able to attend weekend services, but I'm so thankful for the opportunity and privilege of participating in them online. However it isn’t quite the same. While not complaining, I miss having the same opportunity with Men of Valor on Tuesdays, sharing time and life with the Tabernacle men; but I am encouraged by the good reports from their gatherings.

This has been a great joy of my life particularly for the last 15 years, a desire that dates back to the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship. There I witnessed men sharing their testimony of their God and His greatness, ministry occurring at any time or place during the day. Their faith worked more than just on Sunday, as they dealt with the challenges of business and vocation.

There was no separation between the sacred and the secular, but instead a demonstration of His Kingdom going outside the walls of a church building to every area of our culture. Military, business owners, educators, professionals, etc. experienced a call on their life and ministry of sharing life. When He calls us, a change in our vocation never changes nor negates His call on a life, it is just another location to “dig wells and build altars.”

Scripture speaks of David as one who “served the purpose of God in his own generation.”

We are all beneficiaries of the labors and sacrifices that prior generations have made. I do not believe they had full disclosure as to the whys and whats of the choices and deeds that they made, but neither will we. As we walk out our lives, trusting that God is ordaining our footsteps, we establish those proven landmarks for succeeding generations.

The decision that each person must make is whether we will be faithful to serve God’s purpose in our generation with what God has placed in our hand. I pray you will choose to accept the challenge. We have an opportunity to dig wells for this and future generations. Let’s seize the moment.

Blessings,

Pastor Al Baun

Dear Tabernacle Family,

I’m convinced there isn’t a problem in the world that can’t be solved by seeing God and his goodness poured out in our lives, no matter the situation. Despite all that is going on in our world, God is still Good! "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good." I Chron. 16:34. This isn’t just when things are going right and all is right with the world. It means no matter the situation! "In this world, you will have trouble, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

I love the story of when Moses saw God rightly! Moses boldly pleaded with God, "Please, show me Your glory." He was asking to see God for who He really is. "Show me as much as I can stand, Lord." So what did God show him? Exodus 33:19-20 gives us God's response: "I will cause all My goodness to pass in front of you and I will proclaim the name Yahweh before you." Moses wanted to see God's glory. God showed Him something so wonderful and accessible that it caused the skin of Moses' face to glow with the radiance of God's presence. He showed him His goodness.

I asked the kids last Tuesday night to stretch a little further to see God’s goodness in their lives; despite what school is like this year, despite their sports being cancelled, and kids church not being open every week. I challenged them to ask God every day, “God show me your goodness in everything!” This is guaranteed to change your perspective on everything! So my challenge to you is the same, just like Moses, ask God to show you his glory (goodness)! When your eyes open in the morning let the cry of your heart be, “God, show me your goodness in my life today.” My promise to you is you will walk with more joy and thankfulness in your heart. Your situation hasn’t changed, you have!

Your first assignment: Stop what you are doing right now and get a piece of paper and a pen. Now make a list of God’s goodness that you experienced today. Do this every day and you will see how the list grows!

In His Name,

Joel 2

Verse 1  Sound the trumpet in Jerusalem[a]!     Raise the alarm on my holy mountain! Let everyone tremble in fear     because the day of the Lord is upon us. It is a day of darkness and gloom,     a day of thick clouds and deep blackness. Suddenly, like dawn spreading across the mountains,     a great and mighty army appears. Nothing like it has been seen before     or will ever be seen again. Fire burns in front of them,     and flames follow after them. Ahead of them the land lies     as beautiful as the Garden of Eden. Behind them is nothing but desolation;     not one thing escapes. They look like horses;     they charge forward like warhorses

Tabernacle Family,

This scripture, I believe, represents a powerful image of what is happening with our Young Adult community here at The Tabernacle. The scripture references the army that has not been seen before, powerfully moving as one with the spirit of God all around them. All summer we have been pressing into leading a generation to follow Christ, and praying and contending for revival to take place in our young adult community. It has been so encouraging to see a group come together who is willing to lay all else aside to take a stand and live their lives for the Lord. As we begin this new season, we are emphasizing 3 new core values for our community. 1. Pursuit - This means we are on a constant pursuit for the presence of God in all we do. 2. Connect - We believe we are here to be a part of what God is doing in the earth, so we form relationships and make commitments to advance his Kingdom. 3. Tribe - We believe we are called to walk out Acts 2 biblical community with each other. We walk in unity and are on a mission to see Heaven brought to earth.

Would you join me in praying for this incredible group of Young Adults that have come together here at The Tabernacle? I am believing revival for this generation is coming and we will see the promises of God come to life.

Many blessings,

Mike Wulf
