Show Me Your goodness!

Dear Tabernacle Family,

I’m convinced there isn’t a problem in the world that can’t be solved by seeing God and his goodness poured out in our lives, no matter the situation. Despite all that is going on in our world, God is still Good! "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good." I Chron. 16:34. This isn’t just when things are going right and all is right with the world. It means no matter the situation! "In this world, you will have trouble, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

I love the story of when Moses saw God rightly! Moses boldly pleaded with God, "Please, show me Your glory." He was asking to see God for who He really is. "Show me as much as I can stand, Lord." So what did God show him? Exodus 33:19-20 gives us God's response: "I will cause all My goodness to pass in front of you and I will proclaim the name Yahweh before you." Moses wanted to see God's glory. God showed Him something so wonderful and accessible that it caused the skin of Moses' face to glow with the radiance of God's presence. He showed him His goodness.

I asked the kids last Tuesday night to stretch a little further to see God’s goodness in their lives; despite what school is like this year, despite their sports being cancelled, and kids church not being open every week. I challenged them to ask God every day, “God show me your goodness in everything!” This is guaranteed to change your perspective on everything! So my challenge to you is the same, just like Moses, ask God to show you his glory (goodness)! When your eyes open in the morning let the cry of your heart be, “God, show me your goodness in my life today.” My promise to you is you will walk with more joy and thankfulness in your heart. Your situation hasn’t changed, you have!

Your first assignment: Stop what you are doing right now and get a piece of paper and a pen. Now make a list of God’s goodness that you experienced today. Do this every day and you will see how the list grows!

In His Name,
